防腐木方，由于其含水率為20%以下，可以有效地防止開裂與變形。若一定要使用含水率大于20%的等級，則在施工現場，木方的疊放應做到每層有10-20MM的縫隙，并在施工前能放置于現場72小時以上，并在此期間防止陽光的直接照射。建議在施工頂用熱鍍鋅及的釘子或螺絲做連接及安裝。
